Literally 2 times a day, and there are >20 people on it no matter which one I take! The 16 has been the reason my wife and I could consolidate down to one car. I encourage those in the fan to do a little research before writing GRTC off. These routes go up and down Main, Grove Monument and Patterson all day. Instead of entering your address as the starting point on Trip Planner, use an the closest main intersection (Ex: Grove @ Nansemond) or see how close an individual route can get you (16, 13, 2). I have to walk 3 blocks to the pickup and 2 blocks to my job - the trip planner would never show that route.

Every week day!!! I take the 16 to work and the 13 home. I will be devastated if those lines get eliminated! In the mornings, my bus has been averaging about 20 people. This morning it was 25!

Geez, I ride one almost every other day -- especially if I'm running late for the office, which these days, is often. I'm fortunate, living at the foot of Carytown and near Robinson street where several routes go, and even for evenings, when going to First Friday or other events, I'm usually able to get a bus within 10 minute.

Due to shift changes and bus reductions after peak hours, around nine a.m. is tough to find one and around, say, eight p.m. But catching a bus headed my direction on Broad Street is usually quick, even toward midnight.

So, I don't have any gripes. I just wish we had a mix of European trams and heritage streetcars.

I do not know that I am likely to any tome soon, it is a 2 mile trip to work (10-15 min.) by car, the trip by bus would take 50 minutes and one transfer.

I would consider the bus if the ride were as short as one half hour, longer if there were no transfer involved. Luckily, life WOTB means weekends when not traveling to work, I do not drive at all.

I rode the 13 Wednesday 7/9, just two weeks ago.

Ross, Walk on Cary and you'll see the bus (runs every 30-45 mins)! I get on the bus at Shep. & Cary just after 8:31 AM. It goes right down Cary past VCU. It comes back on Main St.

I ride the 16 Bus home from downtown every weekday (my wife and I drive in together in the morning, and she stays later). On nice days, I'll jump on the 13 Bus (which also stops right outside my office building), get off at Mary Munford Elementary, and walk the last five blocks home.

the route 16 westhampton bus has been solid in my limited experience--it runs pretty frequently (for GRTC) in the morning and late afternoon, and no "shady characters," just a mix of people making their way out to UR. hopefully that's a route that can be saved.

I've tried a couple times when it was raining. But I can walk from my house in Carytown to my office near VCU and never see a bus. I WALK DOWN MAIN STREET.

How is it possible for a bus to run down Main Street, like, once an hour?

Tried several times in the last few years, but I wasn't successful because of late buses and schedule changes.

A number of years ago, I took buses regularly to the downtown area from the west end. Mostly my memories are of shady characters, and not work commuters.

At least a year or so ago when I lived in Byrd Park (closer to Meadow than the park), before moving behind Carytown. The 3 and 4 would rarely show up on time, if at all. I was often forced to walk to work if my bike was broken. Good thing at the time I only lived a mile and a half away from work.
