7. It should be something that honors the teams and the players in the old Negro league – Richmond Eagles, Richmond Monarchs, Richmond Stars, Richmond Grays. MLB missed this opportunity when they expandend. Richmond shouldn’t miss the same chance to pay respect to these players.

    This name would be an homage to the only Virginia Negro League team in history, the Norfolk Red Stockings.

12. Richmond Rapids….we should promote the fact we have class IV rapids within our city limits! The James River is one of the best things about Richmond, so why not play off that?

20. I think The Cannons is a better name than any of the 5 finalist. Has a connection to Richmond’s history. Try to hit a Cannon ball. Has attitude. Easy to say.

    Or just The Rocks. Drop “Hoppers.” Still has a connection to the James. Do we really need to spell it out? Has more attitude. The Richmond Rocks has a nice ring to it. But I would just call them The Rocks.
