Watch your down spout

Crime Alert from Lieutenant El-Amin,

Recently we have received numerous larcenies from houses in the Museum District and Carytown. Subjects are stealing the Copper Gutter Down Spouts. Each one is approximately $500 to replace. This is the third time it has been done in the last 2 weeks. So far the suspects have gone unidentified. Could you please ask that anyone that has any information reference this problem to e-mail, or call me at 646-1944. The suspects should be driving a pickup truck or van. They may look like they are doing construction to a house, but they are really stealing the copper gutters.

Identifying Copper Gutters - Most easily recognizable by their greenish tint from the oxidation as the original finish erodes and the copper is exposed to the surrounding air.

You can reach Lieutenant El-Amin via e-mail - Sybil (dot) El-Amin (at) richmondgov (dot) com
