VMFA in the news

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is making news as it is on track for completion of its renovation project in 2 years.  The RTD has a detailed update on the progress, including

  • The foundation has been poured for the 6-story addition
  • A 70X40 ft glass wall facing Boulevard to be installed mid-winter (where the new entrance will be)
  • In-progress updating of each existing gallery
  • New 4-acre sculpture garden in the works
  • A public park behind the building planned

Also,  ArtDaily.org reports that the curator from Indianapolis Museum of Art has been hired to take over the Decorative Arts Collection.
