The Virginia Historical Society is opening its doors for an International Rhett Syndrome Foundation fundraiser on Friday, February 29. Singer / Songwriter Kevin Black will be on hand performing. There will also be dinner and a live auction.

Rett syndrome is a genetic neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls. Rett syndrome becomes apparent after 6–18 months of early normal development. It results in a regression that leads to lifelong handicaps including loss of speech, purposeful hand use and mobility. It is often misdiagnosed as autism or cerebral palsy.

Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased here.
