Saturday, June 26 – MDA Community Yard Sale Day
Are you thinking about having a yard sale this summer? Are you a member of the Museum District Association? If so, we can help you unload your stuff with free publicity on The Museum District’s Community Yard Sale Day Saturday, June 26th.
The Museum District Association will compile a list of the yard sale locations in the neighborhood and post the participating yard sales on our website, Facebook Page and send an ecard out to our membership. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
After the yard sale, please join us for entertainment and food at the MDA Family Picnic at Albert Hill School at 4pm (see below).

Saturday, June 26 – MDA & MDWC Summer Family Picnic
The Museum District Association and Museum District Woman’s Club will host a Family Picnic on Saturday, June 26 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Everyone is invited!
Join us – RAIN OR SHINE – for a picnic, children’s activities great entertainment, and an opportunity to meet your neighbors. Food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. This event has something to offer everyone, so take the opportunity to come on out and visit with your neighbors!
For your comfort, it is suggested that you bring a lawn chair and please note that pets are not allowed on school property and we kindly ask to keep them at home. If you have any questions, please contact picnic@museumdistrict.org or call 804-257-9622.

Richmond Tree Stewards 2010
Are you interested in learning more about proper tree care? The City of Richmond boasts one of the top urban forests in the country, and now you have the opportunity to learn more about the thriving trees in our community.
Who: Richmond residents and other area students and residents interested in learning the proper methods of selecting, planting and maintaining trees.
What: Richmond Tree Stewards Fall 2010 Class
Where: The Round House in Byrd Park and one Saturday class, location TBA
When: Tuesdays from September 7 through November 16 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday November 6 from 9 a.m. – noon (no class session on Tuesday November 2). Professionals in our metro tree care industry will teach the classes.
Background: Class topics include tree identification, tree biology, soil characteristics, planting and care, health and maintenance, and special considerations for the urban forest.
Registration is $75 with a required commitment for 12 hours of community service for students of urban design or horticulture, persons working in Community Development, engineers and planners. Tree Stewards may register for $25 with a required commitment for 12 hours of community service. For all others, registration is $95 with a required commitment for 20 hours of community service.
Participants can register early or at the door. The advance registration deadline is August 31, 2010. Checks should be made payable to EnRichmond Foundation. To download a registration form log onto
