Give it to VCU so they can get their own football team.
Aren’t the plans already approved to put the new UR stadium on campus?
Right and then Trani can get things going to annex all of Carytown. Bad idea.
I think there’s some controversy over the traffic associated with the stadium being so close to home…

I’m pretty sure they already approved the stadium moving to the actual campus. Perhaps now they’re running into how-to problems? I think it’s a bad idea for how much of a bottleneck the campus is with traffic like that. I like the current stadium (though it really is too big for the size of the school). It was always nice as a student to make the trip to Carytown for games (and it got the students out of the UR bubble)
“Adding another entrance or exit could get tricky. The backside of the property touches Henrico County. Tuckahoe District Supervisor Pat O’Bannon says residents along Horsepen Road are also wary of traffic and are opposed to a proposed new road connecting Horsepen to the university.”
ANNOYING. Let’s work together people.
Boo, VCU football. Makes all those “still undefeated” sweatshirts worthless day one.
hasn’t this horse already left the barn and trotted down the lane?
They can go whereever they want to, I just hope the old UofR stadium continues to be used in some way shape or form.
NBC12 has more coverage on U of R plans and the traffic debate…
