Turnover in Carytown: Mayoral Campaign HQ, Boardshop
Posted on | September 3, 2008 | 4 Comments
The latest in and out of Carytown’s revolving door are as follows:
1. NC-based boardparadise takes over Glass & Powder’s vacant location.
2. Robert Grey has been spotted in Carytown, and rumor is that (now confirmed) he is creating a campaign headquarters in EQ3’s vacancy.
3. The vacant spot previously occupied by Carytown Wine & Beer is undergoing renovations. One light remodeling (new bathrooms) and one heavy remodeling (new HVAC) with a combined total of $65k. They seem to be getting ready for new tenants; however, Sauer Properties can’t confirm who or what will be moving in.

Looks like Boardparadise is a chain of North and South Carolina shops. I wonder how they plan on succeeding where Glass & Powder failed.

I had the impression that Schwarzschild Jewelers were planning to expand to the larger former Carytown Wine & Beer location in Cary Court Shopping Center.
I hope everyone turns out to vote Nov 4. if you are not registered, you need to take care of that 29 days before the election.

WOTB is part of the larger 5th district battleground. Pantele’s HQ is also on Cary in the 5th district (1524 W Cary St.) .
No surprise that candidates are battling district by district (5th and Northside being key). Candidates must have most votes in 5 of 9 districts to carry the election or we’ll have a run off vote in early December.
Get out there and vote and think about it HARD! Four years is a long time to suffer under another poor choice.
