Tree Limb nails Motorcyclist on Monument
According to the RTD, a giant tree limb nailed a motorcyclist earlier this morning.
Eastbound Monument Avenue reopened this afternoon in the 4200 block after being closed for several hours after a tree limb fell and struck a passing motorcyclist, who then became pinned beneath a sport utility vehicle.
The rider of the small motorcycle was taken to VCU Medical Center for what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, Richmond officials at the scene said.
Any second thoughts on getting a motorcycle?

It’s not the motorcycles that are dangerous it’s the trees! I have seen several large limbs fall from trees this spring. One almost hit me and another just missed hitting 2 young children on the museum district house tour. Very dangerous. I’m glad to see they are finally getting around to removing the dead trees in the neighborhood.
Usually, it’s me who’s hitting the trees, not the other way around.
I thought of something funny to say, but changed my mind.
Dangerous limbs or trees in the public right of way can be reported to 311 or by on line Citizen’s Request from the City’s website.
It may not seem like much, but the chances of it being addressed increase when Urban Forestry division knows about the issue.
They are currently underfunded, but with increases in reports and incidents like these, one can only hope that will change.
