Toad’s Place is finally here
I know it’s not exactly “West of the Boulevard,” but Toad’s Place, a 1,500-person music and entertainment venue, is finally opening on the Riverfront. This is great for Richmond, which has had a dearth of musical acts due to the lack of facilities to handle mid-sized crowds. There are only so many acts that fit inside of Alley Katz.
Musical acts booked to date look pretty good (at least by Richmond standards). A few highlights…
June 21: Squirrel Nut Zippers
July 5: Summer of Love Tour
July 8: Bowling for Soup
July 21: Reel Big Fish/Less Than Jake
Sept 2: Lamb of God
From the Toad’s Place website:
Toad’s Place Richmond is a total entertainment venue located in Historic Shockoe Slip along the Canal Walk and across from the Turning Basin in Downtown Richmond, Virginia’s established entertainment district.
With a 1,500-person capacity, the three-level music venue boasts a state-of-the-art sound, light and video system, four bars and a full service restaurant with Richmond’s largest outdoor patio on the Canal. Additionally, the venue has a VIP lounge and space for private meetings & parties.
