The scoop on Watermelon Fest

Here’s some important things to know if you’re going to the CaryTown Watermelon Festival…

  • There are 5 places to buy watermelon…
    • In front of McDonalds
    • Cary & Dooley
    • Cary & McCloy
    • Cary & Belmont
    • Cary & Sheppard
  • If you like your watermelon with alcohol, Babe’s of Carytown will have watermelon shooters, and Nacho Mama’s will have watermellon margaritas and jello shots
  • The Watermelon Queen will be at the Kroger Booth to take pictures with the kiddies. Who knew there was a Queen?
  • If you live in the area, just walk to Cary Street. It will be difficult to park, and if you park illegally, you will be towed (60 got towed last year).

I’m not sure if the Titanic water flume will be there though.  See you Sunday.

  2. Do they do satellite parking at UR stadium and shuttle folks over or is it catch as catch can in the neighborhoods?

  3. We never ever move our cars on Watermelon Sunday. You’ll never get your parking space back.
