The lost dog post

Posted on | March 20, 2008 | 19 Comments

Every once in a while we get requests from people who have lost their dogs or, perhaps, have found someone elses dog. Rather than flood WotBN with lost dog requests, here is the once-and-final Lost Dog Post. If you have a lost/found pet just use the site search over there on the right to find this post and leave a comment below.

Sound good?

Ijust moved to the 4500 block of Kensington Ave. on Sunday 3/16 and that evening my dog Gracie got out of my yard and has not returned. Please help me find her. I am offering a $1000 reward for her return. She is a 10 yr. old husky-shep mix. She has a collar and tags on. She is black with blond markings.

My dear neighbor lost her dog earlier this week. She’s a smaller-than-average pit-bull that answers to the name Phyllis. She has a tan coat and is extremely obedient. Post here if you have/see her and I can help coordinate Phyllis’ return home South of Carytown (WotBSoC).

I lost “my dawg” probably about 6 years ago and got married soon after. Some years in the spring I feel it more than others.

If this happens a lot, maybe it’d be worth adding a box on the side under the Byrd or Awards thing. I dunno, just would be good for the community and all.

Best of luck on finding the lost pup.

Phyllis has been found according to one of the owners. She was picked up near Can-Can recently. I’m not sure if she was simply spotted or if someone had her.

Small female beagle found 4/2/08 in the 3200 block of Grove Avenue alley. We walked the neighborhood asking people about her, posted her on Craig’s List, called local vets and shelters, all to no avail. We will be taking her to the Richmond Animal Shelter on Chamberlayne Avenue today. If you think you know this dog, or if she’s your dog, please call Jo at 909-7490 or John at 647-5238.

FOUND – a black and white cocker spaniel. Older dog, with a red collar and no tags. Found on the 2100 block of Stuart Ave. but figured I’d check west of Boulevard as well. If anyone knows who owns this dog, please contact me. Call 263-6857. We’ve got the dog at our house for now.

Our male Boston Terrier, Petey, disappeared from 5 N. Crenshaw Ave. last night (July 2nd).
He never goes outside our house other than our fenced in back yard, so he doesn’t have a collar or tags. If you find him, please call Lynn or Brandon at 358-2953.

Missing black cat, male with broken tail. Very friendly. Outdoor cat who has on a pink small dog collar (he loses the breakaway cat ones). Our neighbors are away and their cat has disappeared on our watch. He is an awesome cat. He’s been missing from Grove and Cleveland area since Wednesday, June 25th. Please call if you think you’ve seen him. (804) 301-3463.

RE: Petey, the Boston terrier – my boyfriend was out very late on July 3rd walking to 7-11 on Nansemond. He tells me he saw a boston terrier and tried to get a hold of him but the doggie was very aggressive (i’m sure he was scared). He followed the dog all the way to Robinson on the other side of Boulevard trying to catch him, but couldn’t. Just wanted to give heads-up on just how far away he might be–I really hope you find him!

Evie: Was he hurt? We think he was taken from our yard. We have found no way he could have gotten out- no holes and our gates are padlocked. If someone took him he would be freaked and aggressive- even more than if he just wandered. Someone else told us they saw a Boston wandering near Roseneath and Hanover night before last. So it’s possible he wandered back this way. If you see him again, our phone number is 358-2953. Thank, Lynn

I have a brownish Senior female terrier mix that I just adopted from a vet clinic. The vet found her walking down the road 2 months ago. The dog is very friendly, not the best of eye sight, loves to give kisses. She has no tail, and is short and stout. Someone must miss her, even though she has been gone some time. She is just so sweet. We want to keep her of course, but if the owner comes forward we will do the right thing. We think she has a flea alergy. The vet clinic is off New Market Road in Richmond. Please email me at RememberYourSoul@aol.com if you think this dog is yours.

I lost my chocolate lab late Friday afternoon on the corner of Hanover and Boulevard. I’m in the process of moving from Richmond and am very upset to lose him on my last day in the city. I’ve put up signs around the Fan and talked to as many people as possible, but if you’ve seen him or know where he’s located, please contact me. I’d really appreciate it.

    Thank you,
