Smoking ban goes down in flames

Looks like you’ll still be able to light up in banks, restaurants, and other public areas for at least one more year. The Virginia House defeated each of the 4 smoking ban bills, including the ones that gave communities the option to decide for themselves.

The RTD isn’t quite right. The House killed the House bills tonight. The Senate bills (the ones that passed on Tuesday) have yet to be heard in the House. So, 9 of the 13 are gone for good, but 4 are still alive. I expect they’ll meet the same fate, but the RTD shouldn’t report them as dead quite yet.

Way to go Virginia. Pathetic. Nothing tastes better with my dinner than a little tobacco. MmmMmm good. Our lawmakers suck.

Gawd I would love to see a list of those who voted towards killing more virginians and employees as a result of this. Get them out of the legislature and focus on people who actually care about others health.
