Saying Goodbye to Carytown Ukrops
It’s the end of an era. While the sale of Ukrops completed long ago, the store remained Ukrops. Tomorrow that changes. The store formally known as Ukrops will shut its doors for 10 days of renovation and when we see it on the 19th, it will officially be Martins.
I would tell you to go by and visit one last time, but don’t. The shelves are becoming sparse. Signage is already being removed. It’s a shadow of its former glory.
Ukrops, thanks for your service.
Martins, we look forward to the future.
I’ve been in a couple of times in the past few days and it is a bit eerie to see the shelves slowly emptying and the lack of signage and floor displays.
However, I’m excited to see what Martin’s will bring us and how they will re-envision the quirky space.
Jay, somehow I imagine you becoming the mayor of Martin’s Carytown pretty quickly.
