I was living in the 3200s of W Franklin - luckily I was not home (I think the guy broke in during the day to avoid confrontation.) The officer assigned to my case said that in that one 30 day period, there had been 15 burglaries in the Museum District - mostly apt buildings as they're generally less secure than a single family home. This instance makes me wonder if they'd scoped out the property beforehand. Using weapons and force is a huge risk to take if you have no guarantee of coming away with something.
