Richmond School Board’s $9 million warehouses near The Boulevard
Style Weekly reports that the Richmond School Board owns two warehouses in the Boulevard area that are worth a combined $9 MM. What are they storing in these warehouses? Perhaps unruly students?
One of the warehouses is identified as being on Arlington Road, which is right across the Boulevard from the Diamond. This seems like prime real estate, next to the highway and could benefit from the new movie theater and baseball stadium.
Not unsurprising, the School Board is already considering ways to spend the money. I’m with West. Let’s kick out all the bums and find some responsible, qualified individuals to serve. Save RPS.

>> What are they storing in these warehouses? Perhaps unruly students?
The unruly students are warehoused at CCP.
Selling these warehouses and using the proceeds to help bring Richmond Public Schools into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) would be the least painful way to comply with federal law.
This way no taxes need to be used, nor do children need to be re-zoned, in order to honor federal and state Civil Rights law to provide accessibility to our children and citizens with disabilities.
>> What are they storing in these warehouses?
- All those extra text books (auditor states RPS is ordering more books than students).
- Those missing Computers
- Late fee letters from creditors.
— Using the money for ADA — Why isnt that the number #1 goal for everyone on the school board.
My children were given extra science books to keep at home.
Has anyone checked out the link mentioned above about the Capitol City Program? A for profit school house right here in Richmond making money off our city’s most disadvantaged and neglected children!!!! I’d rather be a dog housed in the SPCA.
I’m sure Jewell-Sherman’s Zero Tolerance policy fills the CCP.
Do regular private schools operate at a profit?
