Richmond advances to NCAA Football Semifinals

FootballThe University of Richmond Spiders knocked off Wofford in the Elite Eight of the NCAA FCS Playoffs, advancing to play Appalachian State in the Semifinals.

Ap State is the defending champions of the league, and, you may recall, knocked of Michigan in the opening week of college football this year, marking the first time that a Division I-AA team beat a ranked Division I-A team. That just goes to show that I-AA college football is serious business. And Richmond is among the top 4 teams in the division. Woot!

The game will be played at Ap State on Friday at 8pm, and tickets are available. The game will be aired on ESPN2 forthose that can’t make the trip to Boone, NC.
