Pothole Update: Still Not Fixed

Three weeks ago I blogged about an annoying pothole on the on-ramp to I-195 @ Thompson and Park. Well, that little bugger is still there, despite me reporting the pothole to both Richmond City and VDOT.

After reporting the pothole I received email confirmation from the city and VDOT that they received my request. Richmond’s email even had an expected completion date of Monday, June 11th (that’s today, but a big pothole remains). A 3+ week turnaround on filling a pothole is a little absurd anyway, even if they met the deadline. The email also noted “Other circumstances such as weather, work schedules and your availability for confirmation might affect this date,” which gives the City and excuse to do nothing in perpetuity.

Maybe I’ll give the city a call this week and see what happens.  Street Beat has the VDOT phone hotline.
