Possible door-to-door scam
Either a suspicious scam or an orphanage is in need, YOU DECIDE!?
From tipster Aaron:
There are people going door-to-door, asking residents to purchase children’s books to donate to an orphanage. They are selling them to earn a trip to Europe. They claim they live around the corner and give a name and address…probably someone they just scammed. These people are usually are trying to sell magazine subscriptions. This must be a variant of the original scam.

The magazine scam is back too…here is a link to the news item about it: http://www.nbc12.com/news/state/6733986.html
Same story, the kids selling the magazines say that some of the profits go to their school or to help pay for a school trip.
Two girls came to my door saying this group they were a part of isn’t local, but they travel around the country earning points by selling magazines. They said they are working on their communication skills by going door-to-door. We didn’t need any magazines so we purchased a book to donate to a needy school.
