Elephant Thai all the way.
Mom’s Siam. The various Thai Diners. And Beauregard’s Thai Room is good too, although I’m usually not down that way so I don’t go there much.
Just ate at Thai Dinner Too last night. I liked Mom’s but I haven’t been there since they moved.
Mom’s Siam. It’s on my street corner, they’ve got an outdoor deck and that crazy mezzanine. The food has always been good. Used to go all the time when it was up the street. The staff knows us and always waves when I walk by.
They don’t own the building, though, which is in the hands of that guy who owns the boarded up “Christo House” that I have to pass by at least three times a day. It’ll be a dark moment when a hunk of that cornice falls down and clunks a patron or wait person in the head.
The New York Deli started out in the place that’s now the abandoned Universal Market which is a part of that building. I wonder about the Colonial Revival design of the building and the Colonial Avenue name. The street came first, but the design and style suits it.

Thai Curry house! Asian Pumpkin!
Thai Diner Too, definitely, however, I wish we’d get some decent Indian restaurants around here.
Elephant Thai, when I’m over there. Otherwise Thai Diner Too. It’s just so convenient.
Thai Diner Too is my favorite. Mom’s Siam seems to give smaller portions, but for the same price. Ginger Thai is nice–my 2nd favorite Carytown Thai.
2nd for Thai Curry house, the red curry owns me.
yes, what’s with Farouk’s not having any competition? i don’t understand it.
Is that new sushi restaurant open yet?
I love Ginger. But lately Mom’s has been growing on me. They have some delicious red curry up in there.
Definitely Mom’s. Sometimes Thai 2 rocks, but it’s too inconsistent.
Elephant Thai DELIVERS! Mom’s is also a really good option.
Sorry to report that it appears that Thai Curry House is closed and will reopen as an Asian/Cajun fusion restaurant. I am very sad.
That doesn’t necessarily sound like a bad combination to me. Spicy/spicy with crawdads instead of skrimp. What difference does it make. There’s now 14 Thai restaurants in cary town, this could be considered an improvement! also, I’ll feel less sketchy about recommending it to people at work if I don’t have to issue a disclaimer about the decor and facade of the building- “no, it’s really good, but I know it looks bad!”…
Mom’s Siam has the most flavorful Thai food I have ever tasted. The portions are smaller in size, but the quality is excellent. The large windows and various plants brighten up the whole place, even on rainy days. However, I have to give props to Thai Diner Two for the best mango and sweet rice dessert.
