Museum District’s Mother’s Day House Tour - Sunday, May 11

Mother’s Day is May 11th, and the Museum District is hosting it’s 14th annual house tour to commemorate the day.

Nine houses are on the tour, including the Lee School Lofts on 3130 Kennsington Avenue.

Many of the original details of this elegant 1919 building have been preserved, including columns, copper domes, spectacular windows, hardwood floors, and glazed brick hallways.

Also on the tour is the Bed and Breakfast located on 2811 Grove.

The suites epitomize elegance and tradition with luxurious features such as a working fireplace and a black and white marble bathroom with soaking tub and walk-in steam shower. A balcony overlooking the VMFA and beautiful Grove Avenue can be accessed from the two bedroom suite at the front of the house.

Tickets for the tour are $20 in advance and $25 the day-of. Tickets can be purchased at Ellwood Thompson’s and Mongrel among other locations, and on the web at Richmond.com

Transportation between homes is provided for those that need it.
