Movieland @ Boulevard Square now under construction

Today construction kicked off for Movieland at Boulevard Square, set to open in 2009 complete with restaurant, retail, and entertainment space. Oh yeah, and 17 giant screens.

The same development company has also purchased a block of land between 3rd and 4th, Cary and Main.  No word yet on what’s in the works there.

  3. It will be nice to have a 1st run theater within city limits again. (especially one that I could theoretically walk to!)

I shall be watching this project with interest …

I hope half of the stuff they talked about comes into being!
