More Pizza to Richmond
From the Richmond Times Dispatch-
Look for Stuzzi, which plans to be a Neapolitan-certified pizzeria, to take over the space where 1 North Belmont Restaurant had been until it closed Dec. 31. The new eatery should open sometime in mid-March, said Peter Caserta, a partner in the new venture.
Caserta, who was involved in the two former Pasta Luna restaurants, joins Giuseppe Scafidi, the original owner of Azzurro restaurant in the River Road Shopping Center, in creating Stuzzi.
In addition to pizzas, Stuzzi will offer pastas and about 20 antipasto dishes.
Is this a good thing?

a good thing? I guess that depends on how good the pizza is. I like Mary Angelas but some competition for them would be nice.
I guess with Pie opening opening up over on Lombardy, it seems we now have an influx of gourmet pizza in the area.
Also, many people have strong opinions on the restaurants of the new owners, Pasta Luna and Azzurro. Not all of them are positive.
I live a block away so if it is good, then i welcome it. I just hope it isn’t a train wreck.
arianna’s is hard to beat, but if the new guys at 1NB do it right, with moderate prices and good beer selection, it should work out.
Giuseppe was NEVER an owner of Azzurro Restaurant. He was a manager, briefly before he was fired. Spreading lies is not a good way to start off a new business. Tisk tisk.
Ally, if the food scene here in Richmond was based on honesty, we would not have very many restaurants. Restaurateurs are some of the biggest talkers out there. If Guiseppe makes a killer pizza, that is all I care about. That remains to be seen. I’m hoping I don’t have to wait much longer to give it a try.
