Monkey returns – to Richmond’s 10 most wanted
Remember that monkey in Carytown? It’s back, only this time it bit a child in Byrd Park during the July 4th festivities. Health officials are looking for the monkey’s owner and want to examine the monkey’s general health. If you know anything about the monkey, call the Richmond Health Dept – 382-4363.

Updated. Thanks Holly.
so there’s only one pet monkey in RVA?
A decent chance it’s the same monkey. Anyone have any idea how to find the woman, and monkey? mholmberg@wtvr.com
It has to be the same monkey! NBC 12 has exclusive footage of the primate and it is dressed in what resembles a mime outfit similiar to the one reported on wotb. We must stop this monkey madness asap!
Here’s the link to the NBC12 story – no video but a picture.
The reason they don’t have video on wwbt.com is probably because Kurt Autry and Gene Cox cracked up at the end of the story and couldn’t read their lines without giggling. Not to make light of the original story, but it was pretty funny to watch them try to hold it together.
so there’s only one pet monkey in RVA with a mime outfit?
I would certainly hope not…
When the funny monkey starts biting kids, it’s not funny anymore. Sigh.
