RVAblogs set the challenge, and WOTBN.net delivered. This could be one of the most incriminating photos ever taken. Doug Wilder… in cowboy boots… fixing a pothole!
It’s a little difficult to tell, but those aren’t penny loafers, they’re boots. Shiny cowboy boots.
He was also wearing boots in this interview, where the author describes Wilder as “nattily dressed.” When asked why he chose to run for Mayor of Richmond, L. Douglas Wilder responded, “I’m doing this primarily because I’ve lost my mind.”
Will someone please escort the mayor to I-195 to fix the pothole? The joke got old about 3 posts ago.

What’s wrong with cowboy boots? More comfortable and longer lasting than shoes, and *much* sexier to boot (pun intented), well, except for ropers, which are kinda dorky looking.
