I got a chance to visit on the day it was open to the public – it’s a pretty darned amazing place inside.
Thanks for picking up on this. It’s been a huge labor of love on the part of many people. I’m just glad to be a part of it and help spread the word.
There were two sketchy guys there yesterday, but one was with me.
Great to see this….finally. The city first proposed renovating the Pumphouse and installing a restaurant and canal museum, and restoring the Three Mile Lock there, so boats could run from Maymont to that site in….1969. What’s been done thus far has been largely through the efforts of volunteers.
The wheels grind exceeding slow and exceeding small.
I don’t live in museum district anymore, but I check the blog from time to time and the “sketchy guy” comment made me laugh out loud. It seems many other Richmond blogs have gotten angry and negative, but I love these little bits of humor. Keep it up!
