What does finding out who's behind the painting do for anyone? It's like the goose that lays the golden eggs. Only in this case, if we unmask hope, then all those fines might actually be levied on him. Assuming he couldn't/wouldn't pay it, then the art would take a backseat to a "Free Hope" campaign.

If you like a painting, say you did it. Turn yourself in and refuse to pay. Well, maybe this is a good idea if Hope gets caught.

One item from the article is very interesting given the upcoming election craze...

Steven Nuckolls, 2nd District board member of Richmond’s Clean City Commission. Nuckolls says that “the street-art signs are just as illegal as the campaign or other signs posted in the public right-of-way, with maximum fines of $50 per day for each day [a sign] stays up.”

I would rather look at Hope's paintings than a bunch of mangled campaign signs, and unlike graffiti, no property is defaced and removal requires only a wrench.

I would like to know if he actually got stuck with all those fines.

Who makes these? They're all over. I love them. At least until some asshole writes "FAG" overtop of them.
