Hokies vs. Hoos Habitat Challenge

The first ever competitive, collegiate build in the history of Habitat for Humanity will take place here in Richmond when the Commonwealth’s most intense rivalry goes hardhat to hardhat in a race to see whether Virginia Tech or the University of Virginia will raise more money and volunteers to build a house for Richmond Habitat this fall.

The Hokies vs. Hoos Habitat Challenge launches on Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 pm with a hardhat construction competition and press event in the parking lot of Bandito’s Burrito Lounge. A team of volunteers from Virginia Tech and U.Va. will compete to build two miniature Habitat houses to launch the fundraising contest. The challenge continues with a “Raise the Roof” fundraising event from 2:00 - 5:00 pm inside Bandito’s Burrito Lounge. Both clubs invite friends, family, and colleagues to enjoy drink specials, raffle prizes, a silent auction and competitive games, all to support their school and Habitat!
