Fire rips through AlterNatives in Carytown

AlterNatives, the store in Carytown that features fair trade crafts, clothing, and gifts, caught fire this morning. Officials estimate $25,000 in damages.

No one was injured, and investigators have ruled the fire accidental.

AlterNatives is located at 3320 W. Cary Street

Update: The store was completely destroyed, as damage estimates are now at $500,000, including about $150,000 in merchandise. Bangles and Beads next door also had some damage.
