Coming to Scott’s Addition: A new business from Rick Lyons, former operator of Bandito’s, Star-Lite and Republic, is about to open at 1213 Summit Ave., a block north of Broad St. The tiny, white and red building that was Sue’s Country Kitchen for 25 years is now Lunch, a weekday breakfast and lunch spot.

Lyons says that eventually he’ll add dinner hours to the 25-seat cafe, while continuing his Northern Star Catering and Event Planning business. Lunch will serve panini, salads, desserts and boxed meals. With so much local competition, “you can’t serve bad food in Richmond,” Lyons says, and this is his chance to make a small place in “an awesome neighborhood with a lot of walk-in traffic” something personal. 353-0111. Remember when the Wells Fargo in Carytown was robbed by a tall black transvestite? Well, police have found and arrested a suspect:

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, members of the Regional Fugitive Task Force found Darrell D. Harrison, 46, of the 4700 block of Thornhurst Street, hiding in a shed on Bloomingdale Avenue. After being interviewed by Third Precinct detectives, he was arrested and charged with robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Biograph Theatre’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

On its 40th anniversary, the Biograph Theatre, or perhaps something akin to its reanimated spirit, will serve up a pair of highly acclaimed films as a double feature to kick off a three or more part series titled “The Golden Age of Repertory Cinema.”

In other words, the James River Film Society will present “Breathless” (1960) — a 50th anniversary restoration 35mm print no less — and “Lonely Are the Brave” (1962) at the VCU Grace Street Theater on Saturday, February 11, 2012. The event will be a fundraiser for the volunteer run nonprofit James River Film Society and an opportunity to officially launch its campaign to establish a small storefront cinema in downtown Richmond.

This splendid on-the-lam twin bill is guaranteed to make viewers think no less than twice.
