Family Festival Saturday @ Byrd Park

It Starts in the Parks” is tomorrow from 10am-3pm, and features games, arts and crafts, music, and dancing. And, it’s all free.

Some highlights from the City’s Parks website includes jugglers, karate, rock wall climbing, putt putt, and lawn chess. I’ve never heard of lawn chess, but if it involves over-sized chess pieces, I’m in.

Then, at 7pm, Latin Soul band “Ban Caribe” will be playing down at Dogwood Dell for the ongoing Festival of The Arts. It should be very family friendly as well.

  2. Hey, thanks for the info. This is just the kind of thing I like finding out about on this site. I went to Ban Caribe last year at the Dell and it’s a great venue for a show like that.

  3. Grrr, Sam, you told us Ban Caribe was Saturday night so we went and the show didn’t start til after 8 pm and it was KINGS OF SWING. They announced right before they went on that Ban Caribe was actually Sunday night. KOS are so cheesy so we left after awhile.

  4. I’m sorry Holly. Looks like I goofed - Ban Caribe was on Sunday, not Saturday. The link I included had it right, but the blog was wrong.
