The Virginia Historical Society’s new exhibit, “The Episcopal Church in Virginia, 1607-2007,” opened last weekend and runs through January. In collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, the exhibit displays the church’s unique balance between cultures through Virginia’s history, including its
…dominant beginning, near collapse after the Revolution, recovery in the early 19th century, turmoil during the Civil War, gradual revival in the late 19th century, and evolution throughout the 20th century.
Also at the VHS is “Looking Back: The Jamestown Negro Exhibit of 1907,” opening Saturday July 21. Visit on Wednesday at noon for a gallery walk given by the exhibit’s curator.
