Ellwood Thompson’s has delayed indefinitely the store opening in DC. However, it can’t get out of its lease, so it will continue to pay rent and the storefront will remain vacant. Ellwoods sites the economy as the reason for the change in plans.

Thank you for your interest in Ellwood Thompson’s Local Market. I wanted to clarify some misinformation that is circulating around the net; We have indeed delayed the opening of a DC location but nothing has been decided regarding the lease.

Is there much to be “decided?” If you’ve signed a lease, you’re on the hook.
