Delegate Loupassi weighs in on the smoking ban

Posted on | January 15, 2008 | 1 Comment

I emailed newly-elected delegate Manoli Loupassi, serving his first term in the Virginia House, asking him to support the statewide smoking ban in restaurants. Here’s what he replied…

Sam, I appreciate your input. I believe that decisions such as this are best left to the parties. Just philosophical. Best wishes. Manoli

I’m assuming that when he says “parties,” he means restaurant owners should decide for themselves. I respect the libertarian view, I just don’t think it gets the job done in this instance.

While I’m disappointed that he won’t be representing my view, I am happy that I got a quick response and at least he’s sticking to his philosophy. Thanks Manoli. But on this one, I hope you’re out-voted.

Thanks so much for contacting Del. Loupassi! Every contact from a supporter helps educate him on the issue.

    I hope he’s outvoted, too.
