Councilman to target pan handling
An interview with First District Councilman Bruce Tyler is featured in “The Columns,” The Museum District’s Quarterly newsletter. He intends on issuing an ordinance to ban pan handling in residential neighborhoods. Pan handling has gotten worse in the short time that I’ve lived West of the Boulevard. I actually saw two bums fighting for the corner of the I-195 exit ramp at Cary Street last week.
Other interesting nuggets in the newsletter…
- Did you know that the Mothers’ Day house tour raised $12,000? Impressive! This money will go toward new street name signs throughout the neighborhood.
- The Accessible Playground Project at Cary Elementary is progressing well, and a website has been set up (www.jbcaryplayground.com) for designs and details.
- If you spot graffiti, call the Richmond police’s graffiti hotline at 646-1406.
