There was a great turnout at the meeting last night and continued turnout will be necessary to maximize the success of the project. Great ideas were shared regarding composting, cutting out the plots, and the responsibilities of the participants.

Organizers are still in need of support from the community for fundraising and finalizing design details. I believe Lisa with Tricycle gardens is the one to contact if you have skills/time/funds to contribute.

Any bright ideas on how to manage and coordinate children's garden plots or programs would be an asset.

Tricycle Gardens is collecting a $50 dollar plot fee to ensure a spot in the garden when it opens. You can go online to their site and "donate" your 50 dollars that way (noting that your donation is for the Humphrey Calder Community Garden plot fee)....OR you can bring 50 dollars to any of the meetings until the garden fills up.

Word on the street is that the group needs more folks to reserve plots so they can justify the space they requested from the city. Once the fence gets put up I can't see them making it bigger without act of congress or voice of God.

Get out there folks and grab a plot! Lets help make it happen!
