  1. There was supposedly a robbery today around 1pm near Banditos, too. But that’s all I know.

  2. I was just in Tokyo Market on Tuesday before they closed (with wife and newborn). That store is awesome! And the lady who runs it is soooo friendly. We chatted for a while about my favorite rice paper candies and how the company stopped putting toys in and reduced the number of candies. But, we both still like’m. I hope she’s okay. Pop by there and pick up some green tea, organic tamari, and something you have no idea what it is. Help Tokyo Market bounce back and have fun doing it.

  3. I’m surprised that this doesn’t happen more often. Carytown is a prime target for robbery because it is right off the highway. More cops might help, but as is the case with the police station at one of the prime drug hot spots in the city (Cary & Shields) has proven, increased police presence doesn’t always mean a reduction in crime.

  4. That description applies to half of Richmond (including the pistol!).

  5. This is just a sad aspect of city life, almost anywhere. As the economy worsens, we’ll see more of these “extralegal means” of acquiring funds. That independent store owners in Carytown are targets is just, well, beyond unfortunate and besmirches all the plenty of days when nothing criminal occurs there.
