Blue street signs coming to a Museum District near you
The Museum District Association announced in the most recent edition of “Columns” magazine that new “blue” street signs will be replacing the aging green street signs in the Museum District.
The signs are being paid for with $45K in matching funds from the city.
Why blue signs? The original street signs in the Museum District were blue, and later changed over to the standard green signs. Going blue is a return to the roots for the Museum District.
I’ll be sad to see the “Grover Cleveland” sign go. Hopefully someone with some duct tape can amend the new sign.

Does anyone else think all this re-signing is silly and wasteful? I have a hard time reading the brown Fan signs (BROWN! Why, Fan District? Brown is not a bright, look-how-I shine-in-the-dark, color).
90k$ does seem a bit much to spend on signs that already work perfectly well. Does no one have anything better to do with 90k$?
If they can be better placed that’d be awesome, but maybe part of that $90k can just be used to ensure trees aren’t blocking signs so folks can find their way around.
So go steal the signs that you want to keep NOW…
