Best sellers await at Belmont Library
In honor of The Banned Books Reading Marathon @ Carytown Books going on today, I thought it’d be interesting to see what best sellers are sitting at Belmont Library in Carytown simply collecting dust. Surprisingly, there are some fascinating books awaiting your perusal…
- Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell. #42 on Amazon. This gem is filled with anecdotes that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. Gladwell wrote The Tipping Point, another best seller (#38 on Amazon) which is also available @ Belmont.
- Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner. #48 on Amazon. This is a classic must read that challenges the world as we know it.
- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. #61 on Amazon. Word of this exciting fiction book has been spreading like wildfire.
- Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham. #71 on Amazon. This book is not your typical business self-help book. It is written both to inspire and be a practical guide to growing your career in the corporate jungle. It’s sitting on my bookshelf.
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. #130 on Amazon. With book #7 coming out soon, now’s the time to refresh your memory on what happened in book #6. As an even bigger challenge, wotbn.net contributer Justin is re-reading EVERY Harry Potter book before #7 debuts on July 21.
