Those buildings are often owned by limited liability corporations, and they rent is profiting somebody. And there are plenty of apartment buildings on Monument. There are doctors and lawyers offices, masseuse clinics, at least one optometrist, architect and design firms operating out of Monument Avenue first floors. We don't want Golden Arches or annoying neon displays, for sure, on Monument. But I don't think that's going to happen. The street is for the most part residential, and an historic district, so there's not much ugliness that can be brought onto the sidewalks without community approval. The weeds and trash are gone and the boarded-up windows have all been replaced. The new brick-red exterior paint job is a huge improvement over the cold blue eyesore that we all used to have to look at. I'm not sure that the building is suitable for a B&B, considering its size, but condos could be a distinct possibility.
