30 Minutes to Clear the Sidewalk

  1. Good call! They never even cleared our street (grayland) after the last snow. The city needs to step it up!

  2. City Code should be changed to state that your sidewalk must meet or exceed street safety within 2 hours of significant change of conditions – i.e. you don’t have to shovel until the street’s been plowed.

  3. I cleared my sidewalk by 10am yesterday. Apparently the USPS can’t be bothered by such menial tasks: http://twitter.com/SummerOfJay/status/8505158173

  4. That the City fails to meet its responsibility is a pretty poor reason for us not to meet ours. The City’s performance has been very poor, but they have hundreds of miles of road to clear. We have 30 feet of sidewalk to clear. Be a decent neighbor. The number of people who have failed to clear their sidewalks three days after the storm is such a sad statement.

  5. AC- I completely agree with you. Just because someone fails to do there job, does not excuse another person from fulfilling their responsibility.

Still, that does take away from the irony that the city expects its citizens to do what it fails to live up to.

We are now on day 3 and expecting sleet tonight. Nothing like having a ice falling on my already icy road.

  7. Did the city plow any streets this winter at all in the museum district let alone in a timely manner?
