2012 Carytown Watermelon Festival is TODAY

Richmond, VA. It’s far from the most exciting place on earth to live. I’ve often questioned whether or not it should even be considered a city after living in places like Philadelphia and New York. Sure, you can make a trip to Williamsburg and learn all about the wonderful world of wig-making and uh… cannonballs… but what does Richmond have to offer? Well, they have a knack for picking the seemingly hottest day of the year to throw a big event together in Carytown in which everybody goes shopping for discounted merchandise, fried foods, and plenty o’ watermelon. Yes indeed, I’m speaking of The Watermelon Festival!
