Marty Jewell arrested for DUI

RVANews is reporting: According to an email issued by the Richmond Police Department’s Public Affairs Unit, Marty Jewell, councilman for District 5, was arrested at 1:30am this morning near Byrd Park for driving under the influence. No additional details are being released.

Ukrop’s deal goes awry

RTD is reporting: Talks between Henrico County-based Ukrop’s Super Markets Inc. and a potential private equity investor have fallen apart, according to Supermarket News, a grocery industry publication. Quoting an unnamed source, Supermarket News wrote that talks failed over “contractual issues and an inability to get financing.” The #ukropalypse continues!
