VHS opens Moonshining exhibition Saturday
The Virginia Historical Society opens “Moonshining in the Blue Ridge” on Saturday, May 10th, and will run until September 22nd.
The exhibition chronicles how distilleries began in Southwest Virginia, their rise and fall, and how moonshiners became folk heros. Actual stills are included in the collection on display.

Carytown 10K nearing capacity
The Carytown 10K is nearing its capacity of runners – 1,220 were registered as of Sunday out of a total of 1,500 spots. If you’re interested in running, fill out the registration form online soon! The race is Sunday, May 18.

Investment Basics – Wednesday, May 14th
Richmond Public Library’s Belmont branch will be hosting a seminar on investment planning and management on Wednesday, May 14. Alex Paoletto, CFP, from Investment Associates, LTD will present “Investment Basics” from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Carl Edwards’s show car will be on display in the Carytown Kroger parking lot starting at 10 AM on Sunday.
Benedictine High School Art Show – Sunday, May 18th @ Toad’s Place
Benedictine will host their annual Art Show at Toad’s Place this year. Student artwork will be on display and for sale, and 3 bands will take the stage, including the school’s Guitar Ensemble.
The show will take place Sunday, May 18 at 2pm. Tickets are $10, and proceeds benefit the Brooks Berry Memorial Scholarship.
