No museum-area strip club after all
Sam Moore, the owner of Velvet, has cancelled plans of putting a semi-nude club across from the Childrens Museum of Richmond in the old Julian’s building. The building is said to be for sale again.
Skybus GROUNDED
No more $10 flights out of Richmond. Skybus has ceased all operations, including cancelling all daily flights to Columbus from Richmond. Skybus had also scheduled to add a flight from Richmond to St. Augustine, Florida next month.

Street closures for Monument Avenue 10K
Monument Ave. is really the only street affected west of the Boulevard. To get around, use I-195 or head up to Staples Mill Road, both of which are not-too-inconvenient detours.
Also – don’t bother parking your car on Monument starting Friday afternoon. There will be an army of tow trucks to move your car for you.

Kroger to offer $4 prescriptions everywhere but Carytown
Kroger is scaling up it’s $4 prescription program to offer it across all Virgina stores with pharmacies. The move is in response to Wal-Mart slashing prescription prices.
About 300 generic drugs on Kroger’s list will be available for $4 for a 30-day supply.
As for Carytown – that location is excluded because it doesn’t have a pharmacy.

Clothing drive for young mothers Saturday @ The Byrd
VCU students will collect donations of baby clothes, supplies, and toys for young, needy mothers on Saturday from 3:30 PM – 9:30 PM. Also, The Byrd will be screening Juno, which has also created awareness and focus around young motherhood.

A vigil for Tyler Binsted, the man shot and killed in Byrd Park last week, will be held at 8:30 pm Wednesday night. The gathering will be at the Roundhouse near Fountain Lake.
