Glass and Powder, Carytown’s snowboarding boutique, is having it’s annual sale this weekend. If you like to play on the snow or water, you must check it out.
The store is opening early (9am) on Saturday and is marking 50% off virtually everything.
Smoking ban goes down in flames
Looks like you’ll still be able to light up in banks, restaurants, and other public areas for at least one more year. The Virginia House defeated each of the 4 smoking ban bills, including the ones that gave communities the option to decide for themselves.

VA Senate steps up, passes non-smoking legislation
The Virginia Senate passed two smoking laws today. The first would allow communities to enact non-smoking bans in restaurants. The second is a more comprehensive bill that would ban smoking in restaurants and other public places.

Elephant Toe Antiques expands its Richmond footprint
Elephant Toe Antiques, located at the corner of Cary and Belmont, more than doubled its square-footage in Richmond by expanding to a second location at 5808 Grove Ave. The new shop is over 9,000 square feet, compared to 7,000 in Carytown.

Indigo Girls postpone show
In the time it takes to listen to “Closer to Fine” after our last post promoting the Indigo Girls show, it has been postponed.
Apparently, a couple of other shows have been cancelled as well due to one of the Indigo Girls being sick. The show will be rescheduled.
Big week for the Byrd

This week the Byrd Theatre has several big names gracing its stage.
