Possible door-to-door scam

Either a suspicious scam or an orphanage is in need, YOU DECIDE!? From tipster Aaron: There are people going door-to-door, asking residents to purchase children’s books to donate to an orphanage. They are selling them to earn a trip to Europe. They claim they live around the corner and give a name and address…probably someone [...]

Bandito’s Bouncers: Too rough?

I’ve been in Bandito’s twice in the last month, and both times I have seen bouncers literally throw people out the door and onto the asphalt. I’m sure they had a good reason to kick people out of the bar, but is physically throwing someone out onto the floor too much?? One guy smacked his [...]

Central VA Food Bank Needs Peanut Butter

I imagine the salmonella scare has made peanut butter scarce and expensive, plus people don’t want to donate it. The thing is, I feel like peanut butter is a super nutritional food that goes a long way if you’re struggling to make ends meet. Plus, kids love it. So, if you want to help out [...]

A message from Ward @ Chop Suey Books…

Richmond is so awesome. Richmond is amazing! And it’s all because of people like you who see that we are a community small enough for individuals to exert positive change and large enough for the sum of our cohabitants to rally around that change. Let me give you an example: yesterday, Hamooda, one of the [...]
