1st District to Get More Trees

Posted on | January 28, 2010 | 3 Comments

Councilman Bruce Tyler is continuing his tree campaign. The Times Dispatch commented that it has been approved to have $5,000 of his funds go towards the planting of 25 trees.

“Don’t talk about being a green city when you can’t plant a tree right,” Tyler said yesterday.

*If you are doing the math, apparently it costs the city $200 to plant 1 tree.

I’m fairly certain that it costs considerably more than $200 for a government entity to plant a tree. It’s probably at least that much just to start the truck!

When the city cut down the tree in front of my house, I had to pay the city to plant a replacement. Why does it come out my tax money to plant it in front of the museum?
