1st District School Board Rep. Kim Bridges to run unopposed for re-election
With the candidacy filing deadline expired, Kim Bridges is looking like a near-lock for re-election for school board in the 1st district. No one is mounting a challenge.
Kim seems to do a good job keeping her district informed on what’s going on and is honest when the school board comes up short, so it’s not too surprising that her re-election is imminent.

Dear Friends & Citizens,
I need to decide by this coming Wednesday whether to mount a write-in campaign or to sit this one out and allow Norma Murdoch-Kitt to have a “walk-on” to serve as Northside’s School Board member for the next four years.
I have already heard from so many of you who have called, dropped by or sent e-mails urging me to battle on for a multitude of reasons. Many of you have offered to help.
Serving on School Board involves far more than simply representing one’s district, therefore I am asking to hear from citizens throughout the city. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what district you live in when you post a comment.
In addition to asking for your help with this decision, I would most appreciate hearing from citizens across the city concerning their thoughts are on what the SB’s priorities should be during the next few months leading up to election.
Please weigh in with what you think of the Richmond School Board and what you would like to see happen to improve the quality of education in the City of Richmond.
Respectfully,
Carol A.O. Wolf
Third District Member
Co-Chair Student Disciplinary Committee
Member, Finance Committee
Member, Legal, Legislative, Policy and Communications Committee

We really need someone like Carol Wolf on the School Board. When I wanted to do something about the way a bully principal mistreated my family, four School Board members admitted privately that the principal needed to go and one even said that the school was operating like a Baptist charter but only Carol Wolf came to my family’s aid. So if you’re having trouble in RPS and you don’t want it swept under the rug, you call Carol Wolf. She is not afraid of Richmond’s downtown club. If the rest of the SB members were vocal, this principal would have been removed and unable to mistreat families and chase great teachers out to the counties like she has done for years.
Carol Wolf, I hope you make it back on School Board.
I just have to be honest. I have trouble supporting a candidate that isn’t organized enough to get signatures together to get on the ballot.

For the record, Wolf’s opponent didn’t get her name on the ballot last election cycle and ran a failed write-in campaign.
Thanks, es, for posting the SaveRichmond column. GREAT stuff.
